The sleek center display with touch screen is your intuitive command center, while unique air vents have slender, metal-finished controls with diamond-pattern finishes. The same finish is used for the starter knob, driving mode controller and steering wheel controls. R-Design trim highlights the athletic nature of the car, with Metal Mesh Aluminum décor panels and contrast stitching for the seats, tunnel console, doors and gearshift gaiter. Inscription trim includes décor panels in Driftwood, a unique wood treatment.

The panoramic roof available for the S60 bathes the interior in natural light. It’s large enough that those in both the front and rear seats can benefit from it, while special tinted glass reduces unwanted heat and UV radiation. It features a power-operated sunshade that makes it easy to keep strong light out if necessary, while the front part of the roof can be tilted or opened to provide extra ventilation.

Power is sent through smooth-shifting transmissions – an 8-speed Geartronic automatic with steering wheel-mounted paddles on the R-Design variants.

The Volvo On Call* app connects your phone, tablet or wearable device with your S60 to make life less complicated and more enjoyable. The simple interface gives you a range of useful functions, such as the ability to pre-heat or pre-cool your S60, lock or unlock it and find it in a crowded car park.
Volvo On Call is your personal organizer, too; use it to let you know when you’ve got appointments, where they are and how to get there. And by enabling you to connect your Volvo to the internet using a SIM card, it gives you in-car Wi-Fi wherever you go.

Harman Kardon Premium Sound is a high-quality audio system that delivers 600 watts to 14 speakers through a 12-channel amplifier, for clear and powerful sound. This system – developed with renowned audio brand Harman Kardon and using innovative Dirac Unison tuning software – precisely optimizes the response of each speaker to ensure a powerful audio experience for everyone in the car. Automatic Level Adjustment creates a consistent level of volume and intensity, while special algorithms adjust the output to compensate for external noise. Available for Momentum.

The 360˚ Camera available for the S60 makes parking easier by showing a bird’s-eye view of your car and its immediate surroundings on the large center display screen. It allows you to see objects or vehicles that may be hard to spot using only the windows and mirrors and is especially useful when negotiating tight spaces.
MAKE DRIVING LESS TIRING
Pilot Assist is available as a support function that helps make driving in heavy traffic less tiring. This semi-autonomous drive feature builds on the active cruise control function – so as well as keeping a set speed and distance to the vehicle in front of you, it also uses steering inputs to keep you in the center of your lane. Pilot Assist works at speeds up to 130km/h, helping to reduce the effort required when driving on busy highways.

City Safety is a Volvo Cars innovation that helps to protect people inside and outside the S60 by spotting potential danger and helping you avoid it. Radar and camera technology identifies other vehicles, cyclists, pedestrians and large animals ahead, day or night. City Safety warns you if it detects an imminent collision and, if you don’t react in time, it can automatically apply the brakes to help avoid or mitigate a collision. In the S60, City Safety also includes Steering Support, which helps you to steer away from danger as effectively and safely as possible.
ON THE RIGHT TRACK
Run-off road Mitigation is a standard safety feature of the S60 that makes it less likely for the car to be steered off the road accidentally. This innovation detects if the car is about to leave the road unintentionally, between 65-140km/h. It can then use steering and – if necessary – brake support to guide the car back.
Supplementing this is Run-off road Protection, which helps to reduce the chances of serious injury if the car does leave the road. This innovation includes energy-absorbing front seat frames that cushion vertical impact in a hard landing, as well as optional safety belts that hold you tight, even before impact.
